Still Clowning Around

Still working on the Clown TTRPG and still trying to keep it simple. I've finished up the main mechanics I'll be using. I've made the decision to avoid any stat that would relate to death. I want this to be a very cartoonish game without concerns of HP or character death.

The only stats I've developed are in relation to a Clown's magical energy and physical stamina. I'm still working out suitably wacky names for both but as of right now they are Fun Energy and  Stamina. Both these stats are much more like wells of energy that the player pulls from, meaning that they diminish through play. When both have run out the player's clown will need to take a rest before performing any other action. There is a third stat as well, the clown's Size. I want the players to be able to make tiny clowns or even gigantic clowns. So I'm making the mechanics account for the size difference. For further information on the mechanics check out the post I made on the game's page.

I've also determined that I will use a single die rolling system instead of a dice pool. I want to keep the numbers small and simple to make the game even easier to pick up and play.  The motto is "less number crunching and more imagination".

I can't wait to finish developing some of the Clown classes and show you what's in the works. The lore for the campaign which will come with the TTRPG has also made some progress. Don't expect Tolkien levels but it should be funny and overly detailed for a Clown TTRPG.

I look forward to my next update.
